Update: Bauantrag - Building Application

It has taken a while, but the building application (Bauantrag) has been submitted to the Building Authorities (Bauamt) on the 11th of August. The estimated time for the approval is between 1 and 3 months! Lets hope it goes faster rather than not.

Otherwise things have been a little on the slow side. We are not allowed to do anything, building wise, on the property until we get the approval. So in the meantime we can just hope.

Next Update will hopefully have more exciting news to report!

Choices choices choices!

So, today we did the "Bemusterung" which basically means we chose most of the things there were to chose in the house... like window sills, front doors, roof tiles, windows, outside paint colour etc etc... Was sort of fun, but since it took about 7 hours, was also rather draining!

We still have to select the balcony, bathroom elements, stairs and then organise things like the water well, the sewage system, the garden, the flooring, the tilings, the the the... the list continues without end!

We have however had the guy come to the property with a divining rod to find water - which he did at a depth of 22 meters, right where our bedroom and or balcony will be. Which could be problematic, so says the apprentice of the water whisperer, for ones health!

The solution appears to be as simple as putting a layer of cork down on the foundation of the house... The fun never ends!
