Our windows arrived last week (all except one), which is a rather big deal. Obviously we ran from window to window opening and closing them all. Well it is a new and rather expensive toy!
Especially exciting is our terrace door - very nice sliding door - and our kitchen window - also sliding window (thanks to a mess up with a steel girder, the building calculations and solution orientated Eugen - and of course the almost 1000 Euros that paid for it!)
We were a little surprised at how small the bathroom window is, but the view from that window is nothing special and we have a nice big door looking out onto a ... heap of sand ... I mean the forest (gotta think big picture people!).
Our red front door hasn't arrived yet, but that should be here any day now, as well as our balcony door.
All our windows are high security, with 3 panes of glass.
Now that the windows are in they can slowly start with all the work inside the house, such as laying the pipes for heating, water, electricity, floors, finishing off the inside walls, bathrooms - see bathroom plans! - stairs etc.
The piping for water in the bathrooms and our fresh air system has also already begun.
Outside still has its fair share of stuff to do, such as walls - insulation and paint - heating, well, septic tank, filling up the earth around the house, supporting walls, rain water system, transporting the leftover earth away, paving, etc. etc.
More exciting photos of our piping etc. to follow in next post!
Here are the plans for our bathrooms...
