Money money money - Property Tax

Today we received the accounts for the purchase tax (Grunderwerbsteuer in German). Bye bye almost 4k!

We are waiting for our notice to pay the for our land from the Notary which is due on Tuesday.

We spoke to the Helma (house building company) representative yesterday, we should be getting the "official" plans Thursday or Friday next week. Hold thumbs. As soon as all that goes to the building authorities and gets approved, they can start building the house.

It is cutting it a little fine at the moment, as they are meant to start building in August (in about 1 months time). Only then can we move in by March... Well at least we haven't given notice yet!

June 2009 - Our House Adventure starts...

The contracts for the Land, House and Financing are all signed... No turning back.

We are now waiting on the final plans from Helma House (our house building company) so that we can submit them to the council for approval. Which could take from 1 to 3 months!

At the end of this week we transfer the money for the piece of Land... As of the 1st of July we own a 736 m2 piece of forest bordering land in Germany.

Building is meant to begin in August and move in date is March 2010!
